![]() The guitars have a more modern crunch to them. This record is perhaps Maiden’s heaviest production. The first notable aspect of this record is the production. It has some of the most consistent quality across the album like “Somewhere in Time” and an array of outstanding new age classics like “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son”. My question to you is why? This album is on par with Maiden’s best albums. ![]() It has the weakest spotify numbers of all of their 00s albums (It beats “Dance of Death” with consistency but loses to it overall due to the monolithic streaming numbers of the title track). The band hasn’t played any songs from the record since their initial tour to support it. Iron Maiden closed out their decade long silver age of the 00s with a bang and for one reason or another, what amounts to that era’s equivalent of “Seventh Son of a Seventh Son” has been more or less forgotten. “The Final Frontier” is the most underappreciated record in the Iron Maiden catalog. When you think of albums that need more love than they get, amongst the legendary bands, no album ought to come to mind quicker than Iron Maiden’s 2010 effort. ![]()
